MERS疫情擴散，產險業者提醒，若民眾不得已必須前往疫區，記得投保「旅遊綜合保險」，保障範圍包含「海外突發疾病」、「海外旅遊急難救助保險」，讓自己出門在外更有保障。

據瞭解，目前民眾出國地點若為旅遊警戒區，仍可投保旅遊綜合保險，像是現在的狀況，若於海外感染MERS，檢付醫療診斷證明書或住院證明等各項醫療費用收據，即可申請突發疾病住院醫療等保險金。

同時，在當地住院7日後，經保險公司合約的救助機構醫師，以及當地的主治醫師診斷證明醫療設備不足，需進行醫療轉送，在提出相關證明文件、收據申請理賠後，便可依約定給付海外發生的交通、隨行醫護人員及醫療設備費用，但最高以約定的保險金額為限。

國泰產險表示，由於旅遊綜合保險的保障項目繁複，一般保險公司會提供旅遊保險手冊供民眾參考，包括投保內容、海外急難救助服務項目等，讓民眾隨身攜帶，也可透過App預先下載保單保障，以引導式自助處理，保障理賠權益。

事實上，目前有些業者的旅遊綜合保險還保障旅遊期間遭竊能提供相關補償，例如旅行文件重置費用、現金竊盜、信用卡竊盜損失等，即使這段期間家中遭到歹徒闖空門，也有居家竊盜慰問金。

至於在費用方面，以投保5天海外旅遊為例，意外身故殘廢保險金500萬元及航空海陸意外身故殘廢保險金500萬元，並涵蓋12項旅遊不便保障，保費約需400多元。

產險業者強調，出國前除了須注意各地旅遊狀況，維護自身安全，在出國期間保險公司依例不受理投保旅綜險，因此務必於出國「前」事先投保，以免權益受損。
